JNTUH Academic Regulations for B.Tech. (Lateral Entry Scheme) from the AY 2017-18

The student who is joining as a lateral entry (LES) shall register for 144 credits and secure 144 credits with CGPA ≥ 5 from II years to IV years B.Tech. program (LES) for the award of B.Tech. degree. Out of the 144 credits secured.

-A  student after securing admission shall pursue an undergraduate program (LES)  has a minimum of 3 years ( 6 Semesters ) and a maximum of 6 years ( 12 semesters ) to complete his graduation.

Promotion Rule for JNTUH B.Tech R16 Lateral Entry Students:

-Similarly a student to get promoted from 2^nd  year to 3^rd  year needs atleast  29 Credits out of 48 total credits i.e., 60% credits up to second year second semester from all the relevant regular and supplementary examinations, whether the student takes those examinations or not. Upon failing to secure those credits student shall be detained as per JNTU Hyderabad R16 Promotion Rules

- A student to get promoted from 3^rd year to 4^th year needs a minimum of 58 Credits out of 96 total credits i.e., 60% credits up to third-year second semester from all the relevant regular and supplementary examinations, whether the student takes those examinations or not. Upon failing to secure those credits student shall be detained as per JNTU Hyderabad R16 Promotion Rules

JNTU Hyderabad B.Tech (LES)  R16 Exemption Rules:

-A student can avail exemption up to 6 credits, that is, one open elective subject and one professional elective subject or two professional elective subjects resulting in 138 credits for B.Tech program performance evaluation. The students, who fail to fulfill the requirement for the award of the degree in six academic years from the year of admission, shall forfeit their seat in B.Tech.
