    MSIT took its inception in the year 2001 and is currently offered at International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-H), Hyderabad, School of IT, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH), College of Engineering, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) and College of Engineering, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur (JNTUA). MSIT follows ‘Learning by Doing” approach with Project Centered Curriculum aimed at producing employable IT professionals for the Industry.

    The selection process into MSIT consists of following stages Stage I – Graduate Aptitude Test Stage II – Listening Comphrension and Counseling Stage III – Preparatory Course

    Stage – I Stage I consists of Graduate Aptitude Test (GAT) which is a Computer Based Test.

    Stage – II Candidates qualifying in Stage-I will be called for Stage-II of the entrance test, consisting of Listening Comprehension and counseling. Candidates qualifying the Listening Comprehension will be called for counselling on the same day (Listening Comprehension Exam is exempted for the eligible candidates with qualifying TOEFL OR IELTS with 6.0 above Score).

    Stage – III Candidates qualifying in Stage I & II will join the Preparatory Course for eight weeks.

    In the Preparatory course, students are required to assemble their own PCs, install hardware and software, troubleshoot their PCs when required, Programming primer and learn the basics of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, HTML). It also includes preparing a Business plan and Soft Skills.

    Only the eligible candidates clearing the Preparatory course will be allowed to continue with the MSIT programme. Candidates not clearing the Preparatory course will have to leave the programme.

    Eligibility: B.Tech / B.E (All branches) or Equivalent Degree / Post Graduates in Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics / MCA. Eligible candidates can apply for GAT entrance test in the following ways:- Walk-in Entrance Test Regular Entrance Test The eligible candidates can either avail one or both the modes to apply for the Entrance Test. However the best of the scores in all the attempts will be taken into consideration for final ranking.

    Walk-in Entrance Test: Eligible candidates can apply for walk-in Entrance Test at Eduquity Career Technologies PVT LTD, 403, 4th Floor, Myhome Sarovar Plaza, Secretariat road, Hyderabad-500063, Ph : 040-23243010, and take the exam on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday every week from 17th April 2014 to 23rd May 2014. Walk-in entrance test can be taken multiple times, but a time gap of 30 days should be there between any two successive attempts. For every attempt a non-refundable crossed Demand Draft of Rs.1000, drawn in favour of “CIHL”, payable at Hyderabad has to be paid at the exam center (Eduquity).

    Regular Entrance Test Regular Entrance Test is conducted from 24-05-2014. Candidates can apply for this test online (Please see “How to Apply” ) and send a Demand Draft of Rs.1000, drawn in favour of “CIHL”, payable at Hyderabad, to the address given below.     The following are the important dates for the 2014 admissions: Walk-In Entrance starts on 17th April 2014 Walk-In Entrance ends on 23rd May 2014 Last date for applying 12th May 2014 Entrance Examinations from 24th May 2014 Results of GAT 2nd June 2014 Stage II counseling starts from 11th June 2014 Commencement of Preparatory Course 23rd June 2014 Commencement of Main Course 18th August 2014

    Fee for MSIT : Preparatory course fee Rs.20,000/- Annual fee Rs.1,35,000/- for 2-Year MSIT programme. Students selected for the admission into the program after the preparatory course will have to purchase a new laptop which is about Rs.35,000/- CIHL will facilitate the purchase of the laptop. Fee must be paid at the beginning of each year of the MSIT programmes. Opportunities exist for assistantships in the programme for deserving students after the first year. Loan : Loans (inclusive of Laptop fee) are available from banks for students who are successful in preparatory course, provided their eligibility criteria are met.

    GAT test : The GAT test will have 43 questions on quantitative (mathematical) ability involving arithmetic, elementary algebra, geometry, inequalities, graphs (data interpretation), sets, relations, etc. and 29 questions on analytical/logical reasoning and 28 questions in verbal (proficiency in English) involving sentence completion, analogy, reading comprehension, antonyms, etc.
